Muffling sound



Year 5 have had great fun with our Sound topic in Science, and carried out a formal test in class to try and see which materials would insulate sound and which would conduct sound.  We then had a bit of fun by making our own ear mufflers, and devising our own scientific enquiry to see how we could use these in an experiment.

    My muffler did not work at all ,it was no use I could hear the sound.

    I enjoyed the sound topic because we learnt how to muffle sound. We did some experiments to see what materials are conductors and which materials are insulators. My favorite things were watching the movie about sound and how it is made and making my very own ear phones to try muffling sound which we did on the play ground and mine was one of the ones that would not muffle sound but I was the only one who used PHONE WIRE.

    I loved the sound topic. It was really fun. I loved when we put two glass cups on the table, then we put a thin wire on the two cups, then we dipped our finger and rotated it on the top of the glass cup, we COULD see the wire vibrating! Our next topic was about muffling sound everyone thought that Charble’s ear muffles where the best but actually his were the WORST! Humza’s where the best. Now we are learning about the solar system! It is mind boggling! We have so many questions for this topic

    I loved the topic of sound it was so much fun. My favourite experiment was when we had to go outside and see which the best mufflers were. Humza‘s mufflers were the best everyone thought Charbel’s was the best muffler but they weren’t. I loved everything we did and I wish we could continue doing all the fun experiments. I wish we can also continue writing every exterminate in our Science books

    I love year5 projects because they have a lot of experimenting and my favorite project was when we made our muffler which was really fun!!We had to test our mufflers and the most funny part when Charbel had such good mufflers but he went the most far. My mufflers were not that good but it still worked.

    When we did this topic I thought it would be boring but it wasn’t it really turned out fun. I loved it when we did the muffling project. We all had to make our own ear muffs but some people forgot it but we shared. Most people thought Charbels was the best but they wore wrong. Charble could hear the clock from far away but Mr. Suter couldn`t Mr. Suter told Charble you have great hearing!:)

    ya!!!! There's a 9 day holiday and dress as you like day.Now everyone just sit back and relax for 1week and 2days when its 1,o,clock.
