Year 5 partner up with Pre-school
Since last term, Year 5 students have been visiting Pre-school classes on a regular basis, sometimes to read or play number games. The visits are valuable for the younger children, as they give them the chance to meet older children from the school, while being equally important for the older children as it makes them think about their interactions with others. Some of the children find it particularly difficult when they don't get 'a noisy one' and have to try to wean information, comments and ideas out of them. This week it was 5S' turn to visit, and PSH made them very welcome as they spent their time reading together.

I liked going to the Pre-School today because it was nice to read with them asking Questions and it was really Fun!!!

HOW I FELT ABOUT READING WITH PRE-SCHOOL
ReplyDeleteI never thought they knew so many words and colours! Some of them were very interested in what was happening while some looked like they were going to fall asleep. It looked like some of the pre-schoolers liked it a lot and some were bored and wanted to go home. My two partners were both very good but one of them was very hyper. They were all very cute and smart. I enjoyed a lot. They answered so many questions correctly that I ran out of questions.
They are so SWEET ander CUTE i wish i could read to them everyday Olivr the boy i was reading too said "My dad plays football Mr Suter and kicked it higher then the ceiling and it touched the sky!!! how cute is that"

Today 5S visited PSH to read them stories about birthday parties, trips to the sea- side and many more adventures. I really enjoy reading and working with little children so I had no problem working with them at all, and I think 5S also enjoyed their little trip down to pre-school. I would definitely like to go again. :) :) :)

when i was asking the little kids questions he knew mostly all the questions i had a grest time and i wish our books didnt have words in a little pages
ReplyDeleteThe visit to pre-school was fun and I watched over two boys.We looked at a book with no words called 'The Seaside'.I asked them questions about it and they answered every one with glee.I hope I get to come again soon:):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteWhen we went to read to the pre-schoolers i was very excited. My partner wasn't shy and like the story. She explained the story perfectly and really liked it. She answerd all the questions I asked her it was very fun
ReplyDeleteReading to preschoolers was fun although my partners were not so talkative and that meant that they would not talk to me unless I asked them which I didn’t really like. Sometimes they didn’t know words I expected them to know. I was one of the people who had two people since I asked for it which I do regret because when I was talking or questioning one of them the other was playing or not listening. Overall i enjoyed reading to the preschoolers.
ReplyDeleteWhen we did the reading with preschool i liked it but the problem was my partner is always quiet and didn't like speaking loud so i couldn't really hear her. It is all Mr. Suters fault he always chooses for me the shortest and quietest one never know why.
ReplyDeleteI liked going to pre-school and enjoyed it there with the pre-schoolers. They cooperated with us and were good at telling stories from pictures only. They weren’t that shy with us and enjoyed it as much as we did. I would like to go and read with them again.
ReplyDeleteWell, it was OK... i mean like i had 2 children, one called Antonio and one called Amnah. They kept ignoring me the whole time and Antonio and Amnah wanted to go with Agop. So unfair hmm...
ReplyDeleteWhy aren't our pictures on the site?
ReplyDeleteMs. Thomas did not give me any to post. If you have some, we'll add some.

READING WITH PRE-SCHOOLERS
ReplyDeleteIt was a brilliant idea to go down to them to read although there were no pics, so we had to ask them questions about the story and ask them what they think it was about.I hope we do go down to them some other time.

the children were realy cute.i had so much fun.i was reading for a girl called azmay she was very good she said every thing she saw in the picture .
ReplyDeleteWhen we were reading with pre- school it was exciting meeting all the other children that we’ve never read with. It was great fun reading with them because the person I was reading with didn’t look somewhere else and not pay attention. They were actually very focused on what we were doing and they had fun with year 5s coming to them. Sebastian [the person I was reading with] was actually very smart and got every question correct that I asked him. I actually felt like there was no point of coming and reading to him because he knew everything.
ReplyDeletethe best costume was Mr.sherou's and the most discusting food was omar"s

ReplyDeleteIf I Were A Phoenix:
If I were a Phoenix
I would challenge Zeus
to a terrible and horrible fight.
If I were a Phoenix
I would burn all the fluffy,
huge and soft clouds in my way.
If I were a Phoenix
I would turn the colourful,
bright and wonderful rainbow on fire.
If I were a Phoenix
I would save the planet from a scary
fast and flashing meteor heading to earth.
If I were a Phoenix
I would fly to the peaceful
and quiet heavens.
If I were a Phoenix
I would fly around the Earth
as fast as a speeding bullet on fire.
my poem is based on dolphins
ReplyDeletedolphins are cute
dolphins are cool
dolphins are the best in the world
dolphins are amazing creatures
dolphins swim very far
like a blue swimming star
to get food they migrate
going from state to state
they hope they could find piece of land
with lots of food and grainy sand
they play and splash around
with a loud grecful sound
i really do wish i was i was one
i really do wish i could have all that fun
My poem is inspired by Johnny
ReplyDeleteJohnny didn't wash his face,
he didn't wash his knees,
he said "Nobody sees !"
His mother thought,she really ought,
to take him to the zoo,
and find a cage to put him in,
his father thought so too.
My poem is in the style of Jack Prelutsky
