At last, we've reached the end of our home study period. We've all had lots of new experiences during this time, such as doing school work in your pyjamas! There have been positive things that have come from it, such as your ability to work independently at home. And you have all managed to use this blog well which shows your mastery of technology. Your parents have been fantastic, supporting you in your studies, although we are sure they will be more than a little relieved when you go back to school on Saturday. And as for us... Well, it's just not the same without you and we're looking forward to having you all back on Saturday!
As for our challenges... Lots of you tried to estimate Mr. Suter's height. Mrs. Williams has finally revealed that he is... 1m 84cms in his socks, so well done if you got close. Remember, an estimate is a sensible guess so give yourself a pat on the back if you were close.
How many of you have read the Hobbit by JRR Tolkien? If you had, you may remember Bilbo's riddles with Gollum under the Misty Mountains. The riddle "A box without hinges, key or lid..." comes from that passage of the story. Gollum had just as much trouble as some of you, but eventually realised that the answer was an egg.
A note from Mr. Gale for next week: Year 5 girls will be swimming on Sunday for 4 weeks. The arrangements for the swimming lessons will be that the girls are to come to school in their swimming costume under their PE kit and when it is their PE lesson they will come to the sports hall and drop of their school bag. They will then walk across to the pool.
Please make sure that you bring all your home study work back to school on Saturday.

ReplyDeleteI miss working at school. The atmosphere at home is different. I like working at school because I am working around my classmates. In school if we have a problem we can ask the teacher to help us. I prefer going to school rather than having work packs. I learnt that staying home most of the time is quite boring. I miss ICT,DT,ART,MUSIC and PE. At school we don't have to rush to finish our work. At school we have time to learn subjects unlike at home. I feel that we slack in our work when we have too much time off like we have now. I hope that school does not close like this again. I can't wait for school to re-open. I miss my teachers very much. ReplyDeletei miss school it is not like home, at home it is boring and when your stuck theres no one to help ypu it is just not like school. but at school it is diffrent there is teachers to help you and it is more fun like experiments in science and i really miss speacilst lessons and at school i can play with my classmates and i can also work with my classmates so that is why school is fun and it is way better than home study im just glad that were back at school and i hope school never closes again
ReplyDeleteIt feels great to be back at school again. It feels much more comfortable to sit at a proper desk and be in a proper classroom and not have a cranky mum nagging you all day. Although it was fun having snacks any time I want. And I dont have to wrestle my sister any more for the seat facing the garden. But now that I am back at school im dont have to deal with cranky mums annoying sisters and the computer. It is great to be back and see all of my friends again jolly old Mr. Suter. i think 5s is the best class ever!
ReplyDeleteIt feels great to be back in school. All that work at home was quite stressing. It was OK that we got to study at home (mostly because I had my bed!), but I missed all of my friends and doing lessons with them.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought it would be great to stay at home, but it was actually not as fun than at school (mostly because when I was working, my brother often played on the computer!).
I didnt like the holiday because it was boring and imagine 3 weeks without school, it was tiring for me and my mum.also the thing that i didnt like was that we got alot of homework than we usally get at school.i am glad we are at school because we dont have that much homework to take home than we usally do.

It's good to be going back to proper work than working with year 7s and 8s I don't think it's not cool if were not at school but I like be at school because my freinds are there but when your not at school most of them aren't on your compound.It feels different not going to school for a month and it feels weird to put on a school uniform that you havent worn for a month.So it's mostly great to be back.

I am very happy to come back to school and do some more work in class. But at the same time I want to go back home and sit down eat chips and watch my favorite show .I actually miss my classroom and my classmates .Oh and ofcourse i miss my teachers very much.my feelings for coming back to school are alot but i will tell you some of them they are i am tired for geting upm on 6 am ,a bit lazy to go home everyday and do my homework and i was excited to wearing my nice school uniformm and excited to meet all my wonderful and kind teachers and classmates. i am always ready to have some work again. thank you for reading this bye.

i miss school. when i were my uniform i am so happy when your at home is do your homework and when your finished you watch t.v. and it is BORING. when i wake up at 6:00 it so refeashing. i miss ICT,DT,ART,MUSIC SO MUCH! but i a little bit miss going out side and when it is not HOT! i miss the after school ativtes it is so fun.

ReplyDeleteWhen it was the first day of school i was a bit happy, because i will see my friend,and i was happy because we won't get any hard homework.
i always use to wake up more than 10 o'clock in the morning when it was school day i woke up at 6o'clock,i felt alot tired and when i put my uniform i knew that it was school day because i always wake up more than 10 o'clock.

hi again i am writing to tell you more about coming back to school again. putting my uniform on this morning felt weird because I havent worn it for a month. when i put it on i felt clean and ready to work again. coming to school and seeing everybody and the playground felt like i was in a another place adifferent world.

It feels great to be in school again. Although I didn't like waking up early, I was eager to see my friends again.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw them while I was walking to the playground, I was overjoyed. I felt very good to see them once more. It was even better to talk to them.
I felt very excited when the DT teacher told us that we were going to make out own loaf of bread next week. I'm very happy to be here again!

ReplyDeleteWhen I put on my school uniform on today, I felt very happy. When I reached school I felt even more happier to see my friends again.No more homestudy packs and more friends.I felt so relieved after coming back to school after a one month holiday.
