School Rules!

It's great to see your comments about your experiences of working from home (and we are keeping track of those who haven't posted one yet!).

It does seem that many of you are enjoying not having to get up so early in the morning and having snacks as often as you want them! However, it seems you are missing a number of things including specialist lessons, your friends, your teachers (we're glad about that!) and help whenever you need it. We are pleased that, despite these difficulties, you have been coping really well and have generally been producing really good work under your own steam.

What comes across most of all from all of you, however, is that you all seem to be missing school very much and can't wait to start again on Saturday! Believe us, we are missing you too and are looking forward to resuming lessons next week. It's not quite the same coming into an empty classroom each morning.

Here's a puzzle for you. Mr. Whitaker read this teaser last night, and didn't know what the object was. Can you help him?

"A box without hinges, key or lid,
Yet inside golden treasure is hid. "

Who is going to be first with a correct answer? ...

  7. It's not only teachers and students who can't wait for the school to start.

    Parents are anxious too ;)

You didn't ask the parents, but I am saying it anyway :)

As a parent I realized, it's not only about knowing everything, it is about explaining and teaching.

Despite the difficulties for all three sides, I think all children have learned a lot during this time and it should be easier for them to approach new topics and work more independent - hopefully.

And I am repeating myself again; thanks to the Year 5 Teachers and LAs and not to forget the specialist teachers who worked really hard during this three weeks.

  12. Working at home was fun at times. The fun bits were pretending to be in a classroom. The bad bits were when my mum got in a bad mood because we were home full time and she couldn’t get any peace. Just after the eid Holidays when we were about to go back to school Mr.suter called and said we were off until October 17th and I thought yay no more homework but then mum told me I had packs to do and I thought too soon. I tried to do as much work as I could by myself but my mum was a nagging trunchbull. The sad part was I had no friends to talk to like tiara. Another nice bit was being at home all day and waking up late. But I am so into the school routine that I wake up at six am! And every body is still
Asleep. I think working at home was fun!
