Welcome to the third and we hope last week of working from home. We have seen most of your parents and some of you today collecting your work, and look forward to seeing your completed work later in the week. Some of you are already completing your MyMaths work online, so well done! Students from Year 7 and up have been in today, but it is not the same without you!
Today's English task is to post a blog entry on your experiences of working from home, and how it compares to actually being in school. We have given you quite detailed instructions on what to include, so we do expect some lengthy entries, not just one or two lines. You shouldn't just include the answers to the questions on their own, but include your own thoughts and experiences also. We're looking forward to posting some of these up tomorrow.
Mr. Suter thought several parents were looking at him suspiciously this morning when they came in to school, but it turns out they were just trying to get a sneaky peek at how tall he is - Mrs. Williams is still refusing to give her answer, and claims that we haven't had a correct answer yet either. We'll post the answer at the end of the week, so those of you that haven't put in an estimate still have time to do so.

ReplyDeleteI miss the school, with school we wake up early we meet our friends, we learn more and we feel more fresh because of the interaction between the teachers and us.
At home is too hard to do the homeworks and it's boring, so I hope to go back to school earlier.

I like school better because I get to see my friends and we get more disciplined also I like school more because we have breaks and sometimes we play fun games. Even though school can be boring sometimes I like it more than being home schooled. Like I get bored being homeschooled because you don’t get much of a break or not even a break time so I would really prefer myself to go back to ordinary school instead of being home schooled so I’m really looking forward to going back to school.

The difference between working at home instead of school is that you have no one to explain for you (only if your mum is at work and comes at 4:00 and then she helps you). In school it is easier because you have a teacher and an assistant help you. I really miss my teachers and friends from school most of all Mrs. Williams. All teachers help you because that is why the school is made for. At home I like waking up whenever I want and doing my homework wearing my pyjama, don’t need to brush my hair and have a break whenever I want. I want to go back to school because we are not used to work at home and school is a lot more fun with your friends.

ReplyDeleteI prefer to stay at home doing my school work because I don't have to wake up so early in the morning.
At home I don't have to wear uniform, in school we have to wear uniform, which I hate.
I get to have lunch every day with my parents, because my Dad comes home for lunch at 1.30pm and when I am at school I have to stay until 3pm for Arabic lessons.
Thes best things is when I finish my school work I get to go out of the house early.
I do miss my friends from school and going out to play in the playground. When I'm at home I am having little breaks but my Mom doesn't let me go outside.
I also miss my class and Mrs Williams and going to different classes for my lessons.
So now I feel that I want to go back to school next week, and I think my mom would like me to go back to!

Hi guys missing you. Can't wait to get back i really think home school is worse because i dont have many teachers and no friends.Plus no clubs although i do get to choose when i do my subjects.I like moving around in school and i dont get any class discussions.

Oh yeah i almost forgot i've got a change i'll show you when we're back next week.
I liked studying at home but I missed my friends and my teacher. It was fun to study at home, but when I studied at school it was easier to understand some of the subjects for e.g. history and geography. Also, I like to study at home because I can wake up at 9:00 and on regular schooldays I have to wake up at 5:30am! I enjoyed being at home because I get to get to eat lunch with my family, during school I come home late so I eat alone.
ReplyDeleteBut I also missed school break!! I missed being with my friends, talking together, and playing. it was fun . I do miss the school. I miss having the teachers explain things to me while I'm there, and not by e-mail. I also miss Mrs. Williams, she is one of the best teachers. I do miss her and I can't wait to see her next week.

ReplyDeleteMy experience of working in home is ok but I still and Always will prefer working in school.
First of all I like working in school more than working in home because its more fun & easy. Secondly asking ur teacher for help is is more easier than asking ur mom,dad,sister etc. because u have to explain everything, what subject are u doing?, what do u need help in? etc. which takes a lot of time. Finally its better because I like the atmosphere in school.
There are many reasons why I miss schoo but the most important one is that I miss my friends, teachers & class mates because without them there won't be school.
Lastly if u ask me which is better working in school or home I will always say SCHOOL!
I think the length of Mr.suter is 1.80 cm please tell me if I'm right!!!

ReplyDeleteThe difference of going to school and staying at home is, at home there is no teacher, which makes it feel like ordinary homework.
ReplyDeleteI rather go to school than stay home and do all that work. At school you see your friends and you get breaks. At home we only do work and I don't see my friends that often. But I like to eat lunch with my family. My brother always asks me for help, thats why I don't finish my work on time.
But I like staying home too. When my mum is out I finish my work and watch TV!!
I do get to see my friends but only on Saturdays and Thursdays.
I'm really excited to go back to school!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI'm starting to miss school because, I like being with my friends at school and there are much more books to read than at home! And it's much more fun when we do maths or sience at school because I can work with other classmates, instead of working on my own.
It's a little boring here at home because, I have to spend most of the day in my room, on my study desk (I also work on my sofa, where I can sit and look up words from my dictionary).We only go out for swimming or football lessons, or when we finished our homework.
Sometimes, when I'm working, my brother plays on the computer! It's really annoying because it distracts me and makes me want to go out of my room and look at what he is doing.
The things I like about studying at home, are that the computer is not that far away, and we have more time to use it than at school. The second thing is that my bed isn't that far off, so when I'm feeling dizzy, I could lie down instead of just resting on my desk. Also, I like being at home because, I have more time to play at home after I finished my homework. But I prefer to work at school rather than at home, because it's more fun to work and play at school, there's more people to work and play with. I can't wait to return back to school. I miss all my friends, including you.

Three weeks ago the school said that there will be a break. They said that they are giving us homework at home. my mum had to go evry saturday and tuesday to colect it. The lesson

I like doing exprmints at home becuse i can bring my friends to help me doing it. But all other subjects i like to do at school. We were very surprised when we got the news that we are getting extra holidays. It feels good to stay home. I love holidays. When i got to know that I will be sent homework through work packs. I was very excited but a bit confused when I saw the Workpack. It is interesting to work from home but also tough without our teachers help. Although it is fun to stay at home getting up late ,sleeping late and wathing television. But I miss my school, friends,teachers and lots of activities which I enjoy in school. I hope that school opens soon.

I think if we go to school it will be easier because there are more helper teachers to help and we learn more.

At school it isn’t so fun because when you finish your work you have to do more and cant play till break time.
At home it is boring and hard because you might not have the tools to do your work.
It is a bit good because when you finish your work you can play and you can do your work in your nightsuit.

ReplyDeletemy name is amr beck im in the year 5S , well in this three weeks i made my homework with alot of help from my parents it was hard and fun.i didn't play much.I missed my school, i missed my teacher.i do understand in school more than home.i have to read and learn in the school to improve my work.In the school you see your friends,you learn alot,its more orginized.
Anyway i look forward for my next vacation.hehehehehehe
the difference betwen school and home is at home nobody ever tells u go do ur homeowrk unless ur mum is here annd ur dad!at school ur teachers keep u up and make u work as hard as u can which leads to goood results at exams or sats.so school is actually better than home so i hope school dosen't have to much holidays becaue i really want good marks!
